Thyroid tests at home — TSH, T3 and T4
Thyroid problems are common, easily treated and routinely missed, because the symptoms — tiredness, weight change, low mood, feeling cold — are the ones everybody explains away. A thyroid profile settles the question with a single sample, and it is one of the most frequently booked tests on this site.

No, fasting is not required for TSH, T3 or T4. However, if you take thyroid medication, give the sample before your morning dose — taking it first can raise the reading and make the result harder to interpret.
